INSTALLATION DINNER

2006 VERSION

SATURDAY, JANUARY 21ST

ROYAL DRAGON RESTAURANT

It’s time to change the guard for the 2006 Board of Directors and officers of the club.  Prepare to be present when the gavel is passed to the new President and the officers for 2006 are announced.  We can do that this year mainly because we finally found the gavel!  For several years we had a “passing of the spoon” ceremony, but not this year!

The private room at the Royal Dragon restaurant has been reserved for us on Saturday, January 21st.  We will have a social hour beginning at 6:00 pm when those who desire may indulge in adult beverages.  At 7:00 pm we will advance on the buffet tables.

Along with the well stocked regular Chinese buffet, which is excellent, the Mongolian barbeque is still available for those who would like a trip on the hot ‘n spicy side of dinner.

The price for this evening will be $11.00 per person, excluding adult beverages, but including tax, gratuity and soft drinks.  Separate checks will be issued to keep things simple.

Larry Bonner has once again made all the arrangements for the club so please call him with your RESERVATION.  This is important as we must have a count to have the room set up properly.  Call Larry at (918) 627-4305 today and tell him how many will be in your party.

The Royal Dragon is located in the Fontana shopping center at the corner of 51st and Memorial on the south side of the center facing 51st St. (7837 E. 51st St.).  Please tell the hostess you are with the Jaguar Club when you enter the restaurant and she will direct you to the meeting room.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

We are pleased to welcome Ryan and Jozette Rhodes to the club.  They live in Augusta, Kansas, not to far from Wichita and have a 1985 XJ6.  Ryan and Stan Lackey met up over an E-Bay deal (see last months “Cat Tale” for details) and Stan put him in contact with the Tulsa club.   By the way, Ron is looking for some fuel injection insulating cones for his XJ if anyone knows where to find some.  We are delighted to have Ryan and Jozette join our ranks and we hope to meet them in person soon.

At the December breakfast we got to meet new members Michael and Denise Webb of Owasso.  They drove their red 1969 XKE coupe.  The Webb’s really enjoy driving their Jag and we hope to see a lot more of them at up coming events in 2006.

YOUR DUES ARE DUE!

This is the final reminder.  If you have not paid your dues for the 2006 year, send them in today.  Fill out the form on the back of this newsletter to up date your Jaguar and e-mail information and return it to the address shown with your $45 check.  Please note there has been NO increase in dues even though postage will be going up.  Such a deal!  Get your check in the mail today and don’t miss out on the fun activities with your fellow Jaguar lovers in 2006.    If you have some question about your dues, please contact Larry West at (918)664-1743 or e-mail him at Lwest66@swbell.net.

BREAKFAST – JAN 7TH

Get the New Year off to a good start by meeting with your friends at the Sheraton Hotel on 41st and Garnett for breakfast on Saturday.  The buffet is always great and the coffee is waiting.  See you at 9:00 a.m.!

SANTA MESSED UP

I only had one item on my “I want for Christmas” list this year but, darn, Santa missed my house!  I ask for a Super V-8 Portfolio and said I would not be picky about color.  I know the 127 built are all ready sold out but, I figured Santa would have some pull with the elves at the factory.  The 400hp engine will do 0-60 in 5 seconds and still gets 19.56 mpg.  Pretty darn good considering a Hummer gets 11, and besides where else can you get such a classy ride?

I figure Santa must not have had room in the sleigh or he was afraid the reindeer would be jealous.  Well, hope springs eternal so I am counting on the Easter Bunny.
